Delete Post Edit Blog Posts I want to thank the Oklahoma City Chapter of PRSA for putting on Shadow Day for public relations students. If you weren’t there, you should really look into going next year. Whatever your discipline in PR, they will find someone for you to follow and watch first hand. I have to say, I was really disappointed by the showing from OSU today. We have one of the finest journalism schools and PR programs in the country ,and we made a sad showing by our numbers; 16 signed up to go, but I saw six including myself.
In today’s economic climate, you have to take advantage of any and all opprotunities that present themselves to give you a leg up on the competition and that’s what today was. A chance to meet industry professionals and have them interact with you in a real working enviroment. This was also an excellent opprotunity to make that initial contact in building those relationships that may benefit you both in the long run.
So my thanks goes out to all the PRSSA members that went and had a great experience, and also to the PRSA professionals that selflessly gave of their time to give us a glimpse into our future profession. They already know that we are the future of public relations, it is now up to us to realize that for ourselves.
