Whether you’re looking for a spring internship, graduating in December or just getting a head start for next summer, don’t forget the great resources available to you as an OSU student.
HireOSUGrads.com is a great place to start your search. The site usually has several communications positions listed from around Oklahoma and across the country. If you’re looking for an internship within walking distance or a place you can work between classes, you can find it here, too. The site also offers tips and examples on everything from résumés to networking letters.
The OSU Journalism and Broadcasting Internship Information System has information on more than 250 internships in Oklahoma, Texas and other states. The site includes application requirements, responsibilities and wage information, and you can search from public relations, advertising, news editing and broadcasting positions. For now, deadlines have passed for most listings, but the site can still give you an idea of what companies and organizations offer internships. If you’re not sure if the position is still offered, type up a letter of inquiry. See HireOSUGrads.com for examples.
Last, but certainly not least, visit the PRSA-OKC Job Line. It’s updated often with the latest PR, communications and marketing job openings from around Oklahoma. You’ll find a wide variety of job responsibilities and required experience levels. The Job Line even posts internships. Check this site often for new positions.
Next week, be sure to check out the OSU Business Career Fair in Gallagher-Iba Arena Sept. 16 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The event is open to all majors seeking internships as well as full-time positions. Professional dress is recommended, and if you need résumé paper, stop by OSU Career Services.
